Help
Hi - I have always had great help from forums before and I was wondering if someone point me in the right direction again.
I have a 2007 Bentley GT and have the usual boot spoiler issue - I have read a number of suggestions.
I have started to investigate and have removed the motor that does not look the best - my boot 25 amp fuse is also blown.
Could anyone advise me of the pins needed to activate the motor to test and secondly should I be able to turn the motor if I placed a screwdriver in the end?
Secondly the boot release etc all works however the boot close does not work from the inside boot switch - I have noted that the wires are prone to fail - how far do I need to pull back the the rubber tubing between the bar and the boot lid to locate any broken wires - it is quite tight.
Thirdly I have plugged a diagnostic machine into the car and ran a battery test - I am a novice but the battery appeared to test at 9.8volts? - The car starts great and everything works. I am not sure which battery this is testing but it appears well down?
Fourthly I have a number of seat faults - however the seats all work.
Thank you for any help in advance .
Best regards
Rob

Hi Rob, have a read of my posts, all made within the last couple of weeks. I had a couple of similar issues in respect of seat fault codes, power and boot close issues, might give you some pointers.
With regards to your spoiler issues, what exactly are your symptoms? The 25a fuse protects the rear spoiler motor and its control module, so the key will be figuring out what’s causing that to blow; most likely a mechanical issue causing a larger than tolerated current draw. Either your motor is jammed internally, or the mechanism it actuates is. With the motor removed, can the spoiler assembly be actuated easily by hand?
My wiring diagrams don’t show any separate pin outs for the motor so can’t help you there. It’ll have to be tested in circuit with a new fuse, detached from the rest of the mechanism.

Dan,
Thank you very much for the reply - I have not actually tried to lift the spoiler by hand - I just thought the motor had gone. I am having a new large battery fitted on Monday then I was going to tackle it again with a decent battery - I will read your posts.
Best regards Rob
