all the settings are working on manual mode, including massage, lol
but no memory , all 3 buttons on both seats doesnt recall any settings ...

I didn't found any error reading the code with ODBC reader ( V-car pro and auto-doctor / EODB / or car-scanner )
i thought about fuses, but all are ok ...
anyway, that darn memory and the reverse tail lights are my lasts issues on my GT ...

Continental GT Coupé W12 BEB Mulliner 2008 black

You may need to calibrate the seats.

There's an option to do it automatically on VCDS if you have it.

Or I believe you may be able to do it manually. Every possible adjustment has to be done to both extremes.

So seat fully forward, then fully back. Fully up, then fully down etc.

OK !! thank you , i'll try and let you know

about the reverse tail lights, didn't found any fuse blowed, ( the 58 under driver wheel i thing ), ground is of on both, Leds are ok , even i doubt Canbus will not trigger the default on instrument pannel
so it can be the contactor on the gearbox, or worse, the wires ... i 've asked bentley maintenance here but they want to keep the car for 3 days ....
if i had a way to lift the car up, i'll do it in less than 2 hours , tea time included ;
Even it was full maintain by Bentley dealers since day 1 , they need 3 days to check a fuse and a wire ... unbelievable

hello there 👋
thank for the ideas

- Is your battery voltage ok? Sure , 2 brand new Bosch with 2 Bluetooth 12v battery scanners on top for monitoring and low battery alarm
- Have you tried reseating the fuse and/or disconnecting and reconnecting the battery? Yes more than once , fuses new also and all relays tested
- Did you try calibrating the seats by moving each motor to their maximum positions then holding for 2 seconds? => will try again , did it but didnt hold 2 sec after
- Did you try storing new memory (press M for 2 seconds then 1 for 2 seconds) then recall it by pressing 1 briefly? So many times I have my pointer finger with M printed on it now 😂

Any other history you can share about the problem such as when it occurred and did problem occur to both sides simultaneously?

hello there 👋

YESSSS !!! We did it !!
seats are back to normal , memory work prefectly

now it remains the reverse lights … I guess my LEDs install was maybe a little messy …
my usual mechanic guy will test the wires and the contractor next week
Sadly, it’s a 🤬 VAG and it’s no more available
if I need to replace I will buy a compatible

then the big last thing will be the central LED stop 🛑
cost 650€ + tax and shipping on a bravo or Flying spares .., 1100 at
bentley …
And install at Bentley is from 500 to 2400 depending on the rear windshield to remove or not
that’s not nice for a non repairable parts

hello just to say, i've checked VCDS but it's a windows only soft, so i wont put 100€ on that, i use Iphone / Ipad in the car ... yes i know, i can move le laptop from my desk to the car ... but after fixing the GT .. tired , lazy no more juice left .. lol My free soft on the phone read the ODB codes fines, and clear it for free .. why asking for more ...

I finaly found a way to replace the central stop ligh without paying Bentley dealer 1600 € ( for one in monaco, the other one near Cannes wanted to remove the rear windshield and asker for 2400 more, what a bad joke )

I found a compatible central LED stop light to install inside, just under the other one ... it's cheap , invisible from inside, really powerfull ( 2 row of SMD red leds )
i just need to be sure the 12v conenctor will fit the existing one,, hidden behing the left side airbags ...
I'll let you know if that work, the guy told me he will send a DIY manual with photos ...

So, finaly everythings fine, except the reverse tail light .. the contactor will be tested next week , with some luck it's a VAG, and the FEBI or TROPAN compatible cost 3.5€ lol , i'll get me 10 so ... ... we'll see ....

I'll be in Italy next week, I'll stop at Benbtley Firenze, they have a good reputation,
I will ask some price for the next major maintenance so, if they are not too greedy, i'll book that for august holidays ...

bye guys and thank you for the help

@Yoann6 ,
You can do the 3rd brake light properly without removing the rear glass, this way you have the proper oem light in place, and not some aftermarket light against the interior side of the glass, which, depending on style, will give light reflection/glare off into the interior and your rear view mirror when the light is activated.

You can see my replacement of the oem lamp with the factory lip (early style) being replaced with the oem no lip replacement lamp (later style) in my rebuild thread, starting at post number 294 to post number 301.

Thank you, Johnny, for your message, I have gone through your thread and that’s completely unbelievable
big fan of your work, but why the extra stickers on the body ? … i don’t want any on my cars, more neutral it is , the best it looks , Just my opinion, it’s colors and taste there..

I do a few things myself on my cars and all people around say I’m crazy
looking at your work on that GT, if I’m crazy … forgive the joke, you're near the Thanos insane level … lol

I’m actually restoring an SLK 2.3K 98 with a Lorinser engine preparation and an RKG body tuning
it’s gonna be a gift for my son 21 birthday if everything goes well …
its a full stock , limited edition from Mercedes DE and I’ve been told by the SLK forums guys, to their knowledge , it remains only one alive, …
so I have too much expense to come on the SLK and the GT to put 650€ + tax minimum for a stop light, and forget the 1600 Bentley asked me for the replacement, that’s an arson ..
the LEDS seems ok, no reflection inside, perfect warning light outside, protection from rain, and 1h to fix it without having to drill or welt, or glue, etc … I’ll maybe go for the original one day …
if the state tax don’t butcher me again this year …

I’ll do a tutorial when possible for the leds
even for temporary fixing it can help someone…
And for only 10% of the price I’m an happy DIY papy 🤓
For the story , i bought that 2008 GT to a guy who have paid huge amounts to Bentley to fix battery and electric issues after the car was flooded ,
the leak came from a rear left stop light and caused major damage .
seems they replaced fuse box, battery controller, cables, relays, both batteries, the power parts on the right side too , but it was not ok still.
the batteries were drained in a few days…
finaly he gave up and sold the car to me for a bag of peanuts …
it’s Really clean inside and have a full maintenance book form day 1 at Bentley …

now i have fixed mainly all the issues, ( mostly fuses, bad wiring, bad connections, and wrong assembly ) replaced the few damaged spares like turn lights on external mirrors … so I can enjoy that amazing w12 engine in that cool looking car.
it need to be feeded like a panzer tank, but we only live once no ?

I will keep it until next year and resell it
as I want to have a Mk2 W12 GT Flex Mulliner instead … not easy to find one black or dark blue with black or beige interior.
and I have my S500 Limo to replace also, getting old with 475k Km on the counter …
Won’t regret the 300 CDe , sold just before COVID started, perfect timing 😂

Johann
