Front lower rear control arm issues, 2005 Bentley Continental GT

Hi All,
In the process of fitting some polyurethane bushings to the front lower rear control arms while removing the passenger side one on the outer end the balljoint came out of the upright with a top hat style bushing. The drivers side had already been done and it popped out normally just as a taper on the ball joint ( to have a proper look I'd have to remove the control arm again to check it's the same) I personally have never come across this method of construction before, I'm assuming this is standard? Never owned or worked on VAG car before. I've cleaned the upright and checked it for any cracks and all is fine, the top hat bush came off the ball joint quite normally with a puller. The top hat bush with the taper inside when tested is a medium hand push fit into the upright requiring just a gentle tap to seat it, I'd prefer a tighter fit myself but the best i can do is clean everything thoroughly and reassemble with some locktight bearing fit, any thoughts? Or anyone had this happen to them?

Thanks in advance Chris.
