Well I just took the plunge and ordered it. It should arrive by Dec. 2nd. More to come once it gets installed. I got the piano black.

I recently installed that same cluster in my 2007 Bentley GT. The cluster requires you to take apart the existing cluster and install the mother board into a metal case and bolt it into the dash with supplied brackets. I had to cut and modify the metal case as my mother board was different. The seller had only the one case available. After install I found the speedometer needle speed does not match the speed displayed at the bottom of the new cluster. Also, I am unable to save the current mileage to the new cluster. The car saves the correct mileage and is displayed in the popup screen that appears after following the directions. But does not save to the new cluster. I am waiting for an answer from the seller. I do like the new cluster, and it will be a great addition to update my Bentley once the kinks are worked out.

Would you advise I hold off the installation? You mentioned a popup that displays the current milage. Is that easily accessible and is that popup correct?

I would still go ahead with the installation as you might not have the issues I am having. The popup menu is performed after the new cluster is installed. Once on the Software page on the cluster you press the trip button on the dash 8 times and the change the mileage comes up. The mileage is stored in one of the modules in the Bentley and is shown on the page in the new cluster. You might have no problem saving it to the new cluster. I do like the cluster and even if I can't change the mileage I will still keep the cluster.

I just got this from the seller after I told him you had the problems:

Hello Zissis, Thank you for your concern. The new version fixed the milage issue. When you install the oem motherboard to the new unit, the milage data will be auto saved in the new unit. For the speed dial, currently no customers have reported this problem. If you encounter any issues after receiving the product, please send us a video or photo, and our engineer will check and provide upgrade file. In most cases, software upgrade can resolve the problem. Thank you,

Hello @OMAC ,

First, a question, how far off is the speedo needle compared to the numeric display, is it so far off that one may be set to mph while the other is kph, is that is even possible with this instrument cluster ?

As to the mileage being stored elsewhere in another module in the vehicle, that is not the case, the mileage is stored in the instrument cluster itself on the 24C08W6 chip/eeprom, the engine ECU'S store the mileage at an event date/time/mileage of any given fault that may occur, be it a intermittent or a hard set fault, when scanning the vehicle with said scan showing the current mileage at the top of the scan, that is the mileage from the instrument cluster, when clearing any faults, said fault mileage is erased and the instrument cluster mileage is shown in the header of the scan.

Which brings me to ask, just what board or boards did you swap over to the new instrument cluster, the whole main board, or the center screen board, please post pictures if you took any.

Here is the main board of the instrument cluster showing the 24C08W6 chip, this is the same for the instrument clusters I had from my 05 GT, 06 GT used cluster, 07 GT parts vehicle cluster, and the 2011 Supersports GT cluster, they all had their mileage stored on board in the 24C08 chip.

So I am thinking that the new instrument cluster not showing the proper mileage at all times, is an issue with this aftermarket cluster itself pairing with the original main board that you installed in the supplied "metal case", I certainly hope all sides of the main board are fully insulated from the metal case.

Another confusing point is the aftermarket cluster itself, it shows the cluster to be self contained, meaning it has the green and blue sockets for the instrument cluster harness to plug into, to me that would mean that the original main board would be installed inside the aftermarket cluster, not in a seperate case, so which is it, does the aftermarket have it's own green and blue sockets, and therefore a jumper harness is supplied to go to both the original board and that aftermarket cluster together, is that why the case below the cluster is shown ?

Johnny

Yup you are correct. It was a problem with the cluster that they say has been corrected in this new version that they are shipping me. I'll take pictures when mine comes in next week. From what I understand it's the main board that gets swapped which will include the milage chip. @OMAC might have pictures from his install in the mean time.

@Johnny Hotspur GT The unit came in today. You remove the motherboard and place it in the metal case. Then there is a harness that connects the two connectors from the motherboard to the new cluster and you plug the original cables from the car to the harness. The metal box gets bolted in the dash with the old screws and the new digital dash gets mounted on 2 new brackets that you install.

Install was straight forward. They sent me an older software version and just sent me an update to install. Unit comes with a USB port. When you install it please install a USB extension cord and strap it under the steering wheel for future updates. The old version of the software did not recognize my TPMS sensors. I will be installing the new software update probably this weekend and reporting back. My car is a 2010. I am also upgrading the infotainment system to something that looks and works like the 2025 bentayga .. When both are done I'll maybe create a video on both of them.

Nice job! Both of those upgrades look very nice. Both the dash & infotainment screens brings it up to Gen 3 style. I like what you did on the infotainment screen better than the 'Tesla' style as it retains a 'factory' look.
