Roof fault - please help.

2015 continental convertible which has a roof fault code (photo). It’s been operating perfectly for 6 years of ownership however a few weeks ago it threw an orange “roof fault” symbol on the dash. It continued to work fine and I put it down to an over sensitive sensor due to lack of use recently.

When I press the button down to drop the roof, I hear the windows attempt to drop with a very small thud/click and nothing else, same when I operate the button up - it makes the same attempt, I assume the reverse. However the roof doesn’t move, it’s in its closed position. All the windows operate normally, batteries are good, no other issues.

I’ve attached the scan tool error code in the hope someone can help.
My local mechanic cleared the code successfully, then as soon as I try the button again it throws the code again - every time.

“02461:008 - RIGHT LINKAGE FLAP POSITION SENSOR - implausible signal”

Hoping this is a small fix 🙏
