///Milan: i know a few guys who own 745d & 535d and even with the latest DPF technology , they smoke alot after 20-30 K km's. Trust me , I wouldn't think of buying one if I were to live in USA where the gas is cheap and cars are also up to 30% cheaper then Europe.

Gotta be optimistic with you there. Makes me wonder how much the drivetrain can handle on these cars if the stock torque is already 400+. If it has the tuning potential (which it will) of the regular 335i then I think the torque numbers will be frightening. How much can we push if before things start to break?

It has the potential, and believe me, a 535d Touring (heavier than a E90/E92) with a chip gets to 320HP easily. It really needs to be dry to drive 'sporty'. The car gets damn nervous, even with very wide 19" tires.

It will certainly not have LSD...

We are getting the 135i. I wonder if they will make a 135d too? This thing should be over 500 lb-ft with chip!

Gas is cheap, but so is diesel. If you want to play the "fuel economy card," the diesel wins hands down. Lets say diesel and premium prices are even, which is generally true these days.

The diesel gets 35mpg, the gas gets 20mpg (according to article). Thats a 75% increase in economy.

These things are going to be torque MONSTERS. Forget an F250 diesel, just strap a hitch to a 335d and haul the racecar from there.....
