I think you are talking about the 135i that will get the N54 twin turbo engine currently in the 335i... the M1 was the first M car created it already exists. Or... maybe you heard something that i didn't .

The M3 is still by far the most track-worthy/sports car in the group.
Finally, someone who understands what an M car is.

I couldn't imagine why anyone would buy the new M3...the 335i and the upcoming 135i are so superior for the money. And if you are looking for a track/ true sports car (which I never considered the M3 to be...it was closer to the perfect, albeit underpowered dd) there are so many better options. For the money you can pick up a low mileage 2004 996TT.

If only Mercedes would build more of that CLK DTM and sell it for under 100k. That would be the baby maker right there.

The M3 just doesn't have anything that takes it over the top as the "hardcore" three series. No looks, no engine, nada.

I'll be keeping my E46M3 thanks.

+1. Only thing is that the M3 looks soo much better compared to the long skinny 335i

The engine although it is not powerful is pretty impressive. V8 that revs 7k +. And it does have the looks, compred to the 335 it has the same looks as your E46 M.
