No, I'm talking about the new one (the E70 4.8). There have been reports of a "hestitation" issue with shifting. There's an SIB out and a software update. It fixes most people's problems but there's a particular way it has to be done in the system to make sure it sticks, apparently.

thanks for all the advise. this "SAV" gets great marks for every owner i have spoken to. i think i will go with white/balck. somehow i like to get the 3rd seat even though no one can fit in it! i am getting lease payement around 1100-1200 for a 72K MSRP (36 mo with 15k miles/yr and 3K drive off). i really like to pull the trigger soon, but may wait until we move into our new house since our current rental has a garage big enough for a mini. thanks.

I got the 3rd row, while I leave it down most of the the time I have used it on a few occasions when I had family in town. Get the panoramic moonroof as well if you didn't already (It looks like you did based on the MSRP). Lease payments sounds very similar to mine based on a similar MSRP as well.

the other option brought up by many is the Range Rover Sport supercharged, any of you look into that option?

Seems like they have the X5 biturbo diesel in Europe. Know anything about that? Won't they have a diesel available in a few models in 2008? I want to drive one when they are available.

You should be able to get 24 month lease for 1100 including tax at 10k miles

Nice choice. Do you want to replace the Audi S4 with it? Have you canceled the order for the Mini?

oops, i should give an update. for past 6 months, i have sold all the cars, including 997s and audi S4. the mini order was cancelled a while back and i purchased an acura RDX for an extra car. it's been a good DD for now. i am now looking for a new car. the shopping process is a lot more fun than having one! i would like to get a bigger car this time around and really like the X5 at this point. other consideration includes M5, E66, or RR sport SC.

Did you consider the Cayenne?

I have been looking at both and can't quite make up my mind.

They are basically the same price (the way I would order them).

I havent pushed for deals yet (will be $$$/not lease).

Any experience/thoughts?

i took a cayenne S for a trip last year, it drove and handled great. however the interior is outdated and i won't even start on the nav. for similar price, the RR sport SC and X5 4.8 are my preference for now (that is my own opinion)!
