Ricey idea?

I'm thinking, since the M3 cost way too much then its worth (at least in HK). I was thinking of getting a 335i but putting the M3's wider fenders and Amuse/Ericsson kit on to it to give it a M3 look (since i like the wide M3 look much more then standard E92 look)

but I won't put the M3 badge even tho the car will be at least 400RWHP.

Getting a 335i tuned to have the same output as the Amuse/Ericsson M3 and same outlook would still cost alot less then buying a stock m3 directly.

Some facts:
335i MSRP under $700,000 HKD
M3 MSRP $1,400,000 HKD

Mods: around $200,000 HKD

So I would still be half a million cheaper.

So would you guys consider this rice for making a 335i with M3 outlook?

Not at all. So long as you keep the emblems off the car and don't appear a poseur which you have already stated you wouldn't. I think it would look better than the actual M3 --- simply because it wouldn't have that goofy *** bump in the hood.

I think the question is will you be happy with that? I know ppl who've dumped money into cars in similar fashion but in the end they regret and always said they should have just bought the car they wanted.

Do it and keep it tasteful, nothing wrong with widened M fenders!

Do it, even get a used 335i and paint in some special color after you've added the fenders.

I agree. Buy a used one, letting somebody else take the depreciation hit, and then do all the body mods you want.

tons of pics here
https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...d.php?t=113806

this is the look i'm going for. full M3 look and performance but not the M3 price. i just cant justify paying the M3 entry fee when I can get a 335i to look and perform the same for 2/3 the cost (in HK, this project is definitely not worth it in the states). the only thing missing would be the high revving V8 and the V8 sound.

the thing thats bothering me is that i feel like i'm trying to pretend to be an M3... even though performance is on par if not quicker!

here is the list of what i'd plan to put on if i'm really going for this project
- Ericsson front bumper
- Ericsson rear bumper
- Ericsson side skirt
- M3 front fender
- M3 rear fender
- Ercisson M3 style CF hood
- Vorstiener CSL style CF trunk lid
- Ericsson CF doors
- BBS-LMR Gunmetal M3 size and offset (wider then what a regular 335i can fit)
- LSD
- PROcede
- Full eisermann Quad tip exhaust
- KW coilover

Try to see if you can get the engine to rev to 8400. LSD, ETC.

Pics looks sweet. I like it, it's not too drastic and has good lines. Diff. rims would make that car even 2 times better.

Vivaleduc has a point of resale not being worth anything, but guys like Crea and I don't care about the resale, it's the originality piece we care for, I'm assuming kits like this aren't common on 335i's in any area, LA, HK, NY. I would do it just to be different but that's just me.

Crea if the resale doesn't bother you, go for it and send pics when your done.
