Coolest Wheels on an M5 - Neez
Open forging uses a massive weight to essentially pound the metal, and this makes the grains bend and deform to the right direction, and this makes them strong, like impression forging.
I believe HRE doesnt try for these certifications simply because their market is here in the US, not really overseas. If they wanted to sell to foreign markets through an importer, they would need to pass the certification. People can always buy wheels from the US and import them without a hitch. In those countries though, if someone wants to manufacture and sell domestically, they must pass testing whether they like it or not.

True. Also, IMO, having these certifications clearly decreases many doubts about wheel strength. I do believe it may be something looking in to for HRE, but then again, they don't appeal to buyers who want the strongest wheels. They appeal to buyers who want light, nice looking wheels that happen to be strong.
