BMS 335i Does 11.89 @ 114mph
Considering that the car has some pretty extensive mods, no cats, and is running on 98 octane gasoline... 114.8mph trap speed is not very impressive. The launch is very strong, I'll give it that, but the top end is quite week. Bone stock E92 M3 has trapped 114.8mph.
Take a look at this:

The launch is not nearly as strong, but it looks like the M3 will have a much stronger top end than heavily modded 335i's.

Well for one he does have the Stock secondary cats in place. And he's an Automatic Without the sport package. With the Stock Intercooler I don't see how his mods are "extensive" please enligten me. Also If You havenn't seen my other post I've Beaten E63's , Kept with M5's , Destroy 997 S's So and most of those cars trap higher then 114mph And I seriously doubt that M3 will trap 114mph I make almost as much power to the wheels as the M3 does at the crank theres no way it's pulling sorry. And I don't have that many mods I have a catback and a Intercooler and the Tune thats hardly extensive. thats like Basic boltons.
Do you drive daily with 98 octane, 15 psi boost, and drag radial tires? This is not a typical setup you would drive daily on... it would be far more informative to see what the car is capable of on 93 octane, conservative tune, and stock tires. With a street setup, you'd probably be looking at 112mph trap speeds at most. Which is not slow, but certainly nothing to brag about. When 335i manages 118-119mph on street tires running on 93 octane, then we'll all be impressed
Man those 335's are sure getting fast. I don't know if BMW ever thought of this but why would you spend over $70K for the new M3 when the 335 with a few mods will outperform the M3. At least it would seem that way.
I have an E60 M5 and presently my best 1/4 mile time was 11.65 sec with 125 trap speed. Looks like I will have to pedal harder. The 60' time has to be improved for starters. BTW great 60' time on your run.
The 335 is becoming more appealing as another car. I'd never get rid of the M5, love that beast.

Long story short, these things can be very fast. Considering 90% of them are driven to work and back (as well as other daily chores) AND are "faster" than other higher-level cars for something in the $50k range, I don't think 118 instead of 114 should be the deal-breaker.

It's quite a feat from a very unsuspecting car... stop hating and appreciate it for what it is!

I'm not hating by any means, all I'm saying is that 114mph on race gas and drag radials is not that impressive. Its not slow, but a lot of bone stock cars can achieve that on pump gas and stock tires. Look at the pdf road&track test of the new M3 I posted, it has the same trap speeds on stock tires and 91 octane. BTW, the difference between 114mph and 118mph is huge, thats like 5 car lengths.
P.S. Jmoney, I'm not sure why you are saying that M3 would not trap in the 114mph range. Road&Track uses very accurate equipment in their tests, they didn't just pull out that number from thin air. Horsepower does not give you the complete picture, even though M3 has only 420hp, it does not run out of breath at the top end like 335i and has gearing advantage. I would guarantee you that M3 would pull heavy modded 335i's with easy at 100mph+ speeds, although I do admit, it would get crushed from standstill. Look what happened with the stock M6 vs 620hp E55 at that Sweden shootout, E55 destroyed the M6 at lower speeds but got passed with easy at 120-130mph even though it had 120hp less and half the torque.
