the E/T is low because he had drag radials. Look at the 0-60, its 3.5 seconds, as fast as the freaking Ferrari Enzo. That is some killer launch, however, with such a low E/T, you would expect the trap speed to be much higher. The car was not pulling strong at the end at all, likely running out of breath.

I agree that 114-115mph is optimistic, but its will easy do 112-113mph in the 1/4 bone stock. which is nearly as fast a highly tuned 335i on race gas and drag radials. You're not really comparing apples to orange are you? Let's see what a 335i can do on street tires and 93 octane, that would be a much more fair comparison.
I ran 12.60@109 on 93 octane pump on street tires in my 335. My only mod is software.

You're kidding yourself if you think the E92 M3 pig is going to trap over around 111-112 on average. Just wait until people bring the new M3's to the dragstrip. The truth will be in the time slips. From a dig a lightly modified 335 is going to hand the M3 it's ***.

Those are good times Trill, IMO 12.6 @ 109mph on pump gas and street tires is a much better measure of performance than 11.8 @ 114mph on race gas and drag radials. The way I see it is that if you're not using the same setup on the street, than what good is it?

How am I kidding myself? Every single automotive test has the M3 trapping 111-112 or higher. R&T has it trapping 114, C@D has it trapping 112. Why would it trap lower than every single test? I'm not saying it will trap 114-115 average, but YOU are the one kidding yourself by thinking it will not trap at least 111-112 average. In the M5's case, a lot of users were able to produce better times than magazine tests.

That was with me leaving the line at around 1600 RPM's...I could leave a bit harder if the track holds and drop the E.T. a bit more. Most of us run the all out tune on the street though. The way the cars hook up and go from a dig...you need to be careful trying one.

Magazine racing is bench racing at it's finest and will be touted as so. Although the V-box the magazines usually use are fairly accurate. They often are off a bit from actual dragstrip slips. This you will see when folks begin going to the track. SAE corrected my car makes about 385rwtq...I don't trap much over 112.

Me kidding myself...I think not.

Well I guess the only thing we can do is wait and see until M3 users actually take them to the dragstip. How about a $50 bet that a stock M3 will achieve 114mph on street tires and pump gas in an independent user test

Incredible. These are very stout cars, I wonder how they'll run in the long run (40k-50k etc).

I have 47,000 miles on my modded 335 and car runs like it did since day one all I've ever had to replace is spark pulgs under warranty and Oil changes.

Damn...so much hate in this thread. Just accept the fact that the 335 is a fast car with a lot of modding potential for a relatively low price.

Jmoney, I didn't know you switched to the JB tune. Welcome to the dark side!

Don't get me wrong, that is an amazing quarter mile time. I would have expected the trap speed to be a little higher, but I guess with a 60' like that, 114 would be about right.

Where are you getting the 0-60mph times?
