Hey lax01 I'm not sure if you really dislike the product? Sounds like something has really pissed you off.

IMO regarding brakes anything Brembo you are on the right track.
I own an M5 and I went with the Brembo set up with front 16" rotors and 15" rears. I have no complaints.
The stock M5 brakes (E60 M5) are good but come on a car as this with 2 piston front calipers? That is pathetic. BMW should have at least made the brake upgrade package an option for the customers.
In tracking the M5, a car of this size and weight, the brakes really take a beating. I mean if you really put the car through intense hot lapping. In doing this I had the stock brakes punk-out on me. Got a soft mushy pedal. Now some of this can be relieved with better pads (Pagid yellows) and better brake fluid (SRF, Motul or AP Racing).
The stock rear caliper (1 piston) is so anemic that it is pathetic.

Cheers gentlemen,
GT3Ranger

When I went to the M-school, the stock brakes seemed to stand up well, but we may not have been thrashing them as hard as a race driver would. I'm sure they had some semi race pads in there though.

aus you are correct. The cars you drive at the M driving experience I believe have had the brake pads and brake fluid altered.

Do not miss understand me. The stock M5/M6 brakes are more than adequate but I just have always felt BMW could have done better.

Mercedes AMG and Audi RS4 offer 8 piston front calipers. BMW M5 a pathetic 2 piston caliper.
I almost did not order my E60 M5 because of this issue.

I don't dislike the product at all...in fact, if you are going to use it for what it was meant for and gain performance from it, by all means, spend the money. But to drive around on the street with ceramic brakes is ridiculous...not only is a complete and utter waste of money, but its also dangerous.

I agree completely with BMW needing to upgrade the brakes and they have signed a contract with Brembo... finally. The 135 is an indicatio of things to come.
I think it is important to note that the number of piston's doesn't really affect how strong a brake is. It's more about surface area of the piston's. If the brakes can lock up the tires easily, they're strong enough for a single stop and there shouldn't be a difference in stopping distance from one brake system to another for a single stop.

It's an option that runs approximately $300-$350 per kit, depending on the caliper style as well as the caliper and logo color that you choose.

The MovIt CER system operates at a 95% efficiency at 0 Degrees F. 100% at 32 degrees F. Not alot of heat needed. These are Carbon CERAMIC not Carbon Carbon rotors.
