Looking for feedback on a 2008 BMW Alpina B7

The lease on my 2006 750Li is nearly up and my dealer has a new 2008 BMW Alpina B7. Sticker is $124,610.00 (w/ rear entertainment, active cruise and night vision) and he just sent me an email saying that he will sell it for $117,825.00 (his 1st offer and I haven't started working him yet).

Here are the details of the lease:

24 month/10k lease / .00140 rate / 60% residual

$2979.58 due at signing / Payment: $2,407.00 per month plus tax

What do you guys think about this car? Is there anything else I should be looking at? How much do they normally discount these cars and what do you think about the lease numbers?

My situation is I recently sold my 2006 FGT and 2005 Porsche GT3 and I am looking for something a little more fun to drive. But, I need some room in the back to occasionally haul the kids and I currently don't want to own more than one car.

Any feedback, advice or counsel would be greatly appreciated...

Its a great car but if you are coming from an FGT or GT3 and are claiming you want something more fun to drive you may be better off with an M5. In any event if you are serious about the B7 I just saw a new one available on Ebay with a MSRP of $117k available for purchase at $99,999 or lease for $999 down and $1695 a month for 24 months.

60% residual! I agree with the above not just for performance but for the financial decision!

Thank you for the reply. I meant to say... a little more fun than my current (or another) 750Li would be.

Because of my current situation... I can really only have one car. So, I was hoping to get something a little more fun to drive than a standard 750Li.

Is this the car you are talking about on eBay:

If not... please reply with the link.

Thank you,

No. There was another black one with only 20 miles offerred by The Lease Concierge. I just went back to get the link but now its gone. Must have been too good to be true. They have a new M5 still listed in silver/red also if you want to get their contact info and call.

They have a blue one in the dealer I just bought my X5 4.8is at. Ira BMW of Stratham, NH. They have had it on the floor for a long time now and cant move it. I believe they are asking less then your dealer is. It's also in the Dupont Registry. I was told that they are as fast as the M5. That true?

Yeah, it's true. Although they are heavier cars, they have huge torque.

That's one steep payment, although it's a wonderful and rare car. I'd consider working with your dealer on an M5 as well. Inventories are high on these cars, and sales are low because of many factors. I'm guessing you could get a very aggressive number. The room of the M5 is adequate for even two adults in the back, plus it's a blast to drive.

Getting an M5 instead is starting to sound really good. What kind of discounts off of MSRP have you seen or heard about? Or, should I say... how much over invoice could one be purchased for?

Also, since the 2009s will be here pretty soon... should I hold out and get one of those?

What changes are they going to make to the M5 in 2009?

Again, thank you all for the advice and feedback.
