'08 M5 pricing

I was offered today from the dealer an 08 M5 with every option, 6-speed and dinan exhaust with under 5k miles (he was not sure on the exact miles)

What would you guys pay for it in the current market? It has a $98k sticker. I was not really looking for this car but if I can get it at the right price I figure it can be a good dd for the summer.

Thanks,

Michael

you sure you want the 6spd? i understand that it's hugely inferior to the SMG III. That said, SMG III > SMG II by a LOT. i couldn't stand SMG II on my m3. recently had 2 days with an m6 and was blown away by smg III. not perfect but totally acceptable and FUN. felt like a little race car lol

I was hoping it was smg, as much as I like 6-speed I do agree that this car was made for smg. Do you think it is even worth offering because I am not planning on keeping it for a long time and do not want to get stuck with it because it is a manual and with the dual clutch system coming out in a few month, I am sure it is going to be hard to sell.

as far as i know, the manual hasnt different DSG options. i think dealers are offering $10k off msrp.

there is a thread on the lease deals for the 6 speed. i think it was $9XX a month with minimal frive off.

I'm a fan of 6 speed manual but the smg in this car although not the smoothest belong hand in hand with the v10. In S6 mode the shifts are like lightning accompanied with the thunder too.

The miles on the will have some baring in the price. Offer $75K and be firm.
Now as an aside, I have an '06 M5 with SMG and I love it. A member of the M5Board has a 6 speed and has turned an 11.94 sec 1/4 mile pass.
If you get the car I'd bet you may keep it longer than you anticipated. The M5 to me has it all, beastly power, room and comfort. I call it luxury on steroids.

Cheers, GT3Ranger

Michael:

You need to pm RDH. He has one for sale. It's a lease, but there is a buy out option if that doesn't interest you. I've been in the car. It's fantastic, and fully loaded from what I can tell. I think his is an 07. It's been lowered, with upgraded exhaust and wheels. He's pretty aggressive with the pricing. I'm sure you two could work something out if you're interested.

deputydog95, I would contact RDH but I am going to trade my Cayenne in as well since I do not need an suv for the summer.

I was thinking $70-75 range since it is a manual, I love the new smg over the E46 smg but I guess at the right price this could be a fun car, I will see what the dealer has to say, they were asking $87k for it. The original owner traded it for an X5 so my guess is they didn't give him that much for the trade.

The M5 will be coming with DCT/DSG? Can you confirm the source?

Im sure he can't confirm this as no one overseas has hinted this will happen... atleast not until F10 comes out in 2010

I do not know if it will be out on the M5 but he said for sure the M3, I was just stating that the new technology is coming that will make the 6-speed even more less desirable for these cars.

I will stop over this week and take it out on a test drive and go from there.

75k sounds about right. low miles or not the car is used and as others have said the 6 speed is less desirable to many people. All that aside I think if you plan to keep the car for a long time and put a lot (100k+ miles) on it the 6 spd might be the smarter choice because if the SMG breaks it'll be costly to fix.
