Customers are not going to pay $3k plus for coilovers if they felt there are no differences with handling/performance/quality. And I'm not saying lowering springs are bad; I had lowering springs on my 1985 VW GTI. I'm just saying if you drive a high-end car don't short change yourself by dumping $500 springs. Thats like wearing a $5k Versace suit, with $30 shoes; why bother.
when you want to close the gap on your car springs work fine and you wont notice a difference from stock on ride quality ...especially when getting some wheels to finish the deal....I'm not knocking coil overs, if you're going to be a weekend warrior great, adjust your settings for the track but most will be used for driving to and from work ...the place we go to earn the money to afford such luxurys ....I wouldnt buy a versace suit either,,,couldnt care less....

The majority of the E90/E92 M3 customers who care about suspension are going to choose the EDC option from factory, the only way to retain EDC is by going with springs instead of coilovers.

To Each their own... Springs are fine and the EDC would be the choice for the M3's so it is the only option.

Marketing at its best...

If closing the gap is your goal, then springs will do fine. But keep in mind as well, you just altered the OEM suspension; now the OEM suspension has a brain freeze (so to speak) and probably saying, "why do I feel like I working twice as hard now - this is not what I was designed to do. I had a pair of Versace shoes to match my Versace suit, now this guy replaces me with Payless shoes, WTF!!"

Bottom line, I understand to each his own, and having said that I will keep my mouth shut now. So if anyone here owns a Murcielago dumped on H&R springs, I strongly suggest you keep your mouth shut as well.

Maybe not available for the new M3s, but I thought they have coilover kits now with EDC option.

When you own an expensive car (like an M3), you should have one of the best coilovers installed, not springs.
i don't know what are you smoking, in most of cases coilovers are overkills on street cars. springs work just fine as long as they work with EDC.

edited, i didn't see everyone had the same view as me lol
