Smile P Guy need some B Help

Porsche Guy need some Bimmer Help Hi,

First of all, I am coming over from the P car section of this Bord and I like to greet everybody from sunny Aruba

Here is my problem:

I thought I made a good deal and bought from a local lawyer a BMW 523i Touring Euro built in end 1998.

What seemed like a good deal turned into a nightmare

For two weeks I drove this car and the third week the engine broke down with only 80k on the watch. A friend of my diagnosed the problem and it he discovered that the cylinder headgasket was broken and destroyed the heads (cracks) and destroyed the whole engine.

Here is what I like to know from the BIMMER PRO'S:

Repairing is not an option here on Aruba! I need to replace the whole engine. Is it possible to fit in my Euro 523i the US 525 engine without any hard surgery.....means a an easy engine swap what a skilled local mechanic can perform for me here on the island.

I checked Ebay and some Miami shops to find the 525 engine and that is not such a big deal. I just need to know from you Pro's if this is an easy straightforward job.

Please help me out here guys...I am really stuck with this problem on this island!!!

Greetings to all,

Kasi
