2008 and 2007 SMG transmission comparison

Guys, i have another question.

Is it true that the 2008 m5 has smoother transmission as it has the new dual clutch? and the 2007 still jerky because it still uses the old SMG?

im currently in the market for used or brand new M5, and now im deciding which year should i go for.

thank you guys.

what do you mean by all m5 has SMG III? is that the third version of SMG?

i'm not really sure what DCT is, is that something like sport button?

i'm really really new in the BMW world.

DCT is the BMW version of a dual clutch sequential manual transmission (avail on the new M3) - SMGs are all single clutch as far as I know.

There is no variation between an 07' and 08' M5. They are the same transmission with a single clutch.

60ms Paris? We were discussing that with Chicho the other day... we couldn't believe it is as fast as the Scud's gearbox!
