M6 or E92 M3?
I have had both... No matter how much fun the M3 is, there M6 is a completely different beast. It is fun and as someone said sexi. Its a beast, not as easily thrown around like the M6 but the M3 can't really hold a candle to the M6, PERIOD :-)
A SC'er for the new M3 if it is a bolt on kit can not run much boost.
At 12:1 compression how much can they safely go without having to go to internals and a built motor.
I highly doubt it would make 600 bhp and certainly not to the wheels.
Guessing I'd say from stock (420 bhp) it could go to 540 to 560 bhp which would be nice.
These are conservative numbers.
I know someone had shown a dyno of an M3 with forced induction with hugh numbers but I would more concern and lets see what really gets released to the public.
Dinan is also going to release a stroker motor for the M3. Stated to be 540 bhp.
Regarding the M6, the tuner ESS is supposed to be developing a SC'er for thr M5/M6's. This will be running the stock compression.
Good stuff coming down the pike.

Look at what the E46 M3 achieved on stock internals with boost. The E92 forced induction scene is going to be incredible, with VF, AA, and ESS all in the mix developing superchargers.
Regardless of tuning and "upgrade" potential, I think these two cars are extremely different, though brilliant in their own respects.
I view the M3 as one of the best driver's cars available for the money (especially in the USA); the modern, everyday racer.
On the other hand, I view the M6 as more of an AMG competitor, like the CLS 63 or CL63/65, etc. I say this because they are luxury centered "boats" (I don't mean this in a bad way, I love Benz and AMG to the bone) with monster power. They give you great luxury, everyday practicality, paired with monstrous power...however, the power is often more of a "bolt-on;" the cars are more than adept to handle it, however they will never have the pure fluidity or natural feel of cars that were purposely built with performance in mind... I understand that the M3 is essentialy based on the 3 series, however, not to the extent that let's say the S65 AMG is based on the S550...they are just more powerful equivelents of the orignal iteration, whose ultimate goal in terms of the original, standard, non-M 6 series is not raw performance. (I do not feel as though this applies to the new C63 or much of BS as much or at all depending)
Don't get me wrong though, the M6 is truly an ingenous "hybrid..."

make the right choice... M6 all the way.. it's truly a Beast!! and yet can still be classy. the m3 is more of a beginners guide to the M Power IMO.... Twin Supercharged M6 (now that is some scary ****)
The M3 will make huge numbers with forced induction as ESS already hit 600 wheel on pump.

I never imagined they'd make such hugh rwhp with the new M3. SC'er with stock internals with the 12:1 compression has surprised me.
I heard Active is running between 6 and 7 lbs of boost.
These SC'ed M3's will out perform the planned Dinan stroker M3 motor which I believe is to be 540 bhp.
The two cars (M6 and M3) are different and really not comparable.
I will say the M3's with these SC'er kits will be screamers. Looking forward to the 1/4 mile times and traps.
Fun times up ahead.

I'd take either any day of the week over my DD, but between the 2 I would probably take the M6. The M3 is fantastic for tracking/autocross but if you want to ride around in comfort with the ability to go fast whenever you want, the M6 is the way to go.
From personal experience, the M3's adjustable suspension is more comfortable than the M6's.
I was just referring to the power delivery. The M3 seems to lag a bit in the lower rev band. For instance, just zipping around town on a normal day, the 335 seems to do a better job than the m3 does in the lower rev range, whereas the M6 has pretty good power delivery across the board. I suppose w/ the 335 though that the torque compensates for the slight lag due to that stupid 29.2 software.

The 335 has a lower rev range and is turbocharged, it doesn't do better, it is simply different. The M3 has significantly shorter gearing that more than makes up for it and 90% of its torque is available from 2200 RPM on.
