uhh... no. bangle was the primary designer of the E46. that's why he got his promotion to the position he was in up until 2 days ago.

I say go for the E46 because there are more aftermarket support if you intend to mod. As for look, I prefer the E46 also.

Z4M has much quicker steering response and the intimate cabin feeling along with sitting on the rear wheels makes the driving experience much more exciting.

The shifter in the MZ4 is also shorter and ''crisper'' than the E46 M3.

Brakes are also from the M3 CSL.

It's more fun to drive no question about it.

As far as looks go, that's 100% subjective.

I've never driven a Z4M. I had a Z3M roadster. It was a fun car, but, hard to drive everyday (especially if it was raining). My neighbor has a Z4M Coupe. He contemplated trading it in for an E92 M3 recently when BMW was offering $8000 discounts and 1% 60 month financing. He said that the Z4M, while a fabulous car, is a bit rough and hardcore. It is definitely a tight fit and a bit oppressive with the dark headliner in that confined space. For a weekend/ track car, the Z4M Coupe is the hands down winner. For a daily driver, the M3 is more liveable with a real trunk and a back seat with 99% of the performance of the Z4M

this is pretty much 100% accurate. so if you are a puss... get the M3, if you are a BAMF, get the M Coupe.

I would go for the 2002 M coupe. I know it's not the cars in question, but its the greatest car ever! (at least to me)
