The F10 may not be the car that we enthusiasts hope it is, it went from one of the lightest cars in its class to weighing the thick side of 4300 lbs. It lost its innovative hybrid chassis, and from most reports its steering feel.

i've been an e39 m5 owner for a long time and have never warmed to the e60...from the exterior looks to the problematic smg to the horrible gas mileage and high price, i could just never bring myself to upgrade. i will probably take a look at the f10 m5 but don't like the fact that the car, while to my eyes more attractive than the e60, has also gotten even bigger. i don't need a bigger car any more as my kids are mostly gone now. i don't mind the idea of a turbo car, but handling/steering are key for me, as is better fuel mileage which is bound to be part of the package. i surely didn't like what i read in this month's car and driver where the f10 came in last in a test of 6 cylinder sports sedans...i hope that's not a harbinger of the upcoming m5. a good used e60 m5 must be a hoot for $40k however!!

love the sound, but hated the SMG3 and the V10 just felt too slow (lack of torque) especially on such a big car

The E60 took a long time for me to warm up to, its exotic sound and engine and 7 speed SMG are very good. Especially from freeway roll speeds! However I felt that the S62 V8 could have evolved and it produced more torque at lower rpm than the S85. You guys both need a Dinan S2 M5 with the 3.45 diff or a Dinan S3 M5.............they IMO are way more car and still have that classic E39 look!

I also agree that the M5, is a lot of car for around $40k....but then again so is an E55!

I'm sentimental on my car also but I want to step into a GT3. I also recently just listed my car for sale for $41K!! AND it only has 27xxx miles!!

I couldn't get myself to list it so low but I want to make a fairly quick sale.

I am not sure if I should keep it or not....??

Sad to see it go...my fav. of all models...
I have to agree...buying a early model of the E60M5 can be very costly...there we some known problems with the computer glitching...
My lease on the 335 is up in 2 years...hopefully by then or sooner can pick up a 2010 model...

I know this is blasphemy but I think the upcoming E63, and the current CTS-V may turn out to be better drivers cars than the F10 M5. Its sad though, if I wanted a 7 series chassis I would just buy a 7 series!

SHIELDZE1025 will become famous soon enough
It does suck to see it go, but I love the new F10. I saw one on the road for the first time and although it looks like a 5/7 series hybrid, I think it looks much better. A litte more streamline and not as bulky.

Can't wait to see the F10 M5 when it comes out, surely it will be a beast. And although the depreciation is terrible for a few of you, like Bobby_LeMans said, good for us! lol
