//M5 V-10 Lots of questions.. What Year, What to look out for?

With the attractive prices of the V-10 M5 I'm seriously considering one to replace my Escalade. I had a 335i prior to the Escalade and although I'd probably rather have an M3 I think it is too small for me and my family as I have 3 kids... That said, I'd like to hear some opinions of those of you who have the M5 and or those that are in the know.

- What is real world Gas Milage if you run the 400hp selection?
- Milage @ full power?
- What years to stay away from?
- Expensive car to own?
- Satisfying to drive?
- Real world practicality?
- Buying one with 30K milage too much?
- Any other comments etc appreciated!

Thanks

You'll have better luck on the M5boards with these questions. I can tell you the gas mileage is awful and switching between limp and power modes doesn't make much of a difference. If you get one get a warranty. These are expensive cars to own, more than Porsche's. But you get a lot of performance for what is really a family sedan. It will be way more satisfying than your Escalade, but less so than your GT3. Duh

gas mileage sucks any which way you drive it. 8mpg
out of warranty it can be expensive to maintain, get a CPO
any year is pretty much the same, they all didn't ever really have any issues, I've had an 06 and an 08 all pretty much reliable
It's one of the best all around cars to own. Performance of a porsche, with 4 door practicality
