335i Transmission
335i Transmission
Gents,
I am looking at a used 335i, probably 2008/2009. I keep reading about these new automatic transmissions being very quick, quicker than a manual. I like the idea of being in control with the manual, but I also like the F-1 paddle shifters. Got any insight on both of these configurations in the 335i? I've never owned a BMW, only Honda. I just when from an automatic to a manual in the Honda Civic Si, and so far love it.
Thanks.

Depends on what you're going to be using the car for, and your overall preference of course. If you do a lot of city driving or in traffic, auto is probably better. Auto is also quicker in straight line performance in the 335's. You can't beat the feel and driving experience with a manual though. I personally have never owned a car with less than 3 pedals, and don't plan to anytime soon.
you really want a new 335is because you can get DCT. A twin clutch transmission sounds like exactly what you want and is miles better than an automatic/titronic. If that's more than you want to spend then maybe consider an audi TT with the DSG and if that's more than you want to spend or you just need more room like me, then look at an audi A3 with DSG.
