this is funny being this is a forum of porsches...so i was in a panamera yesterday, guess what other car plays the exhaust through the speakers? haha

 

all wrong, engine noise through the speakers wtf!!!

 

I didn't know the Panamera did this. I've never read that in any article. Did the dealer tell you?

 

Is the Panamera's sound a simulated recording then synch played through the speakers (like BMW) or sound that's channeled from the exhaust/engine?
Neither is preferred but I can put up with sound channeled in from the engine.
The BMW crap is recorded, replayed sound. That's just not right on any level for the famed Ultimate Driving Machine.

 

i'm not sure exactly how it works...i was chatting with an owner one morning at starbucks.

i did find this though...

 

None of that fake engine noise in my N/A M3 V8. You hear every bit of it up to 8300 RPM.

 

I'm a huge M5 fan but this new model is just not up to par....fake exhaust sound? That alone ruins this car....I never knew M owners wanted it peaceful and quite in the cabin.....Thank you AMG for having a loud and throaty.....EXHAUST!

 

Unbelievable! I'm with you guys, first the turbo motors and heavier cars and now pumping artificial sound into the cabin? What a gimmick!

 

I'll bet a lot of people buy them anyway. They may be new BMW customers but they will sell. If the Bangle bimmers sold, so will these.
