Picking up another toy....
After sellling my last E36 M3 to a good friend back in October we have been on the search for something new. My last E36 was a Dinan S3 car but it was an auto vert. The car was amazing but it wasn't for me. I only owned it for 9 months. It has gone to a good home now and that worked out for the best.
I thought about buying another E36 M3 coupe but then decided to look for something different. After months of searching I stumbled on to an awesome find and today I closed the deal! The car is a bone stock 2003 E46 M3 6 speed in Steel Gray with Imola Red interior. I so love this color combo. The car is in Atlanta so next Sunday I will fly there and drive her home. I can't wait!
Here are are a few pictures:

.
owned 2 soft tops
1st in Hawaii - drive a mile put the top up (rain shower), drive another mile put the top down, drive another..... could never leave it down (to shop for instance) as it might be filled with water when ya got back - or - some lowlife would have ripped out the radio and trashed the upholstery
2nd a BMW in Texas - hard to find a full day suitable for having the top down - too dang HOT ! (or windy or raining or freezing or..) the top also hard to keep "adjusted" so if driven during a rain you'd get soaked
perhaps Florida is THE place for a convertable..? (but personally that red interior makes my eyes hurt - to each their own)

Thanks guys, she is a 2003 with Cold Weather package, NAV, and 6 speed manual transmission. I work from home and my wife is a stay home mom so none of our cars get driven much. My E60 M5 was purchased on 10/30/10 and to date I still haven't hit 5,000 miles.
Anyways, the E46 has some highway miles mostly from the 2nd owner. I have the CARFAX and the car had a PPI at a local German performance shop. The car just turned 110K but is in excellent condition. I do a lot of my own work so I look forward to learning about the E46. After owneing my last 2 E36s this will be fun I am sure.
MI55LE - I have spent a lot of time in HI and lived in Dallas for about 8 months so I know exactly what you mean about those two places. FL is a pretty good place for a drop top. As for the color combo, one of my favorites which is why I bought it over the other M3s I found but as you said, to each their own.
