High Mile BMW thread?
Here's my '01 E46 with 244k miles. Its actually the 2nd time I've owned it. Its a 5 speed, Premium/ Cold Weather/ Sport package with H&R springs, Bilsteins, M3 replica front bumper and lip spoiler. Cheap and fun daily driver.

I bought a 03 m3 recently as a daily driver with about 100k miles. It's basically a German Honda with cheap plastics that falls apart. It's fast enough compare to 996 but I would not buy one new at a price tag of $65-70k. The bumpers and fenders look thin and light compared to a Porsche. I am glad I didn't pay a bundle for it. It's not comparable to Porsche quality.

That's interesting. I have a 2003 E46 M3 that has 150k miles and is absolutely perfect with the exception of a broken exhaust hanger. Love the car and it feels like it could go on forever.

Yea, same here. I don't know what this guy is talking about. I've driven my fair share of 996's and 997's and firmly believe that my E46 M3 has much better interior quality than 996 and marginally better than the 997. He must have bought one that was abused. How do you figure the front bumper "looks thin" compared to a 996? The paint and quality of the materials used holds true to the 55-65k price tag.

i've got an 04 m3 vert with 153k, solid as a rock! Interior is very nice and this talk about bumpers is funny. They are probably the most solid pieces i've felt while washing cars, no flimsy movement like most plastic bumpers. Paint has held up great for a high miler commuter DD.

I currently own a E92 M3 and the interior is much better quality than the Porsche. I love my Cayman but Porsches are more about the ride than the interior quality, which is probably why they revised the interior of the new 991s to look more like Audi.
My Audi TTRS was hands down the best interior money can buy. Napa leather, Real Aluminum trim,...very timeless look.
Bumper quality? That sht is all the same. Unless you see a bumper sagging or what not I have never noticed any Euro car with a thin light bumper...

I have a 2000' 323ci that I bought new and it has been my daily driver ever since....230,000 miles and going strong!

My 1996 328is is up to 192k. The drivetrain is strong but it is starting to show its age in some areas. Like the OP this is my second time owning it. I sold it to a friend last year and bought it back this year...then I remember why I sold it...too much rust.

I have owned a Cayman S, and an Audi TTRS. This talk about the bumper and interior make absolutly no sense.
