May take a job in Vegas for a year - Bring the ///M?
Hey everyone - So it seems i've been offered a job in Vegas for about 10 months to a year and as a part of my deal, I have the opportunity to bring my car out with me. My debate is, part of my deal also allows me to fly home to Miami every weekend, so i'm trying to decide whether I want the car at home in Miami as a weekend driver, or as my daily driver in Vegas...
I like the idea of some spirited desert runs and having the flexibility to drive to LA to check out other SICK cars in Cali, as well as the different shops etc...
So what does everyone think - keep it in Miami as a garage queen, or enjoy it on the west coast?

I just trailered my car out to PHX since 80-90% of my time will be spent here this year. If they company is paying do it! I will probly drive it back on occassion tho, it was meant to be driven!

Thanks for the responses everyone - i definitely agree it would be fun to have the car out west for a while... and I will certainly include shipping back to miami once my stint is complete...

Do you really think you would be flying back to Miami, EVERY weekend?! Take it with you, no question.

i'm also not a gambler, and am over the party scene (enjoyed plenty of that here in south beach for years)... but the opportunity both financially, and for the experience is almost too good to pass up...

Take it with you. Having a nice set of wheels for transportation is a plus. Besides, Nevada and Cali have year-round nice weather so it makes sense to bring your baby (I meant the car
)
I agree that the garage situation is important but since the company is sending you, Im sure it will be a non-issue. As long as you dont have to park it in a big hotel lot, unsupervised, the car is better left sleeping in the garage.
Enyoy your time in the West Coast. The drive from LV to SoCal is always fun, just bring your radar with you. And watch out for low-flying planes.

Parking isn't usually a problem in Las Vegas, and you can use a car cover to keep the heat out. Flying to Miami very often will be a drag, I couldn't find any real non-stop flights when I did this trip recently. The least worst was the Jet Blue red eye, Las Vegas-Long Beach-Ft. Lauderdale.

I've done Texas (Home, Dallas area)-Oklahoma-New Mexico-Arizona-Nevada-California and back twice, and the rides have been amazing. I had runs where I set the cruise at 150-155 (manual says 120 max) while my wife slept. Great run- usually can make Dallas-San Diego in 15-17 hours.
If you have an M5, you MUST drive it in the West. Then you'll probably buy a property in the southwest. It is the best place to live.
