GMG/Tecmark unit for Laguna Seca Speed Touring Car.
Tecmark and GMG Reunite for Laguna Finale and 2007
Tecmark Autosport and Global Motorsports Group (GMG/www.gmgracing.com) will compete in theTouring Car Finale at Mazda Raceway, in the Tecmark/Lectric Air/GMG E46 325ci. This will set the stage for the potential run at the 2007 Touring Car Championship. Walter Swick, owner of Tecmark Autosport and James Sofronas, President of GMG, have been racing together for the last decade, most recently with Walter as team owner and James as driver. Together, they campaigned for the 2004 Touring Car Championship where James finished 4th in the final points standing. Tecmark Autosport, based in Mentor OH is one of the premier fabrication and race prep shops in the Midwest. GMG has plans to expand their operations to include a small retail center within the Ohio based Tecmark shop.
James adds, "Tecmark has proven their capabilities by producing some of the most competitive and beautifully crafted race cars in the paddock. These cars perform as well as they look and it makes sense to team up with Tecmark on the retail side because GMG and Tecmark share the same vision when it comes to workmanship and attention to detail not to mention the fact that GMG is moving into their new 15,000sqft facility next week which will enable GMG to expand on it's Motorsports Program with Tecmark. Plus Walter and I have become good friends and his team of guys are great to work with."
