I still think the GTi looks better, but the TT engine in that will be sick.

Best thing is RWD And it doesn't look as bad with the M-sport pack.

That is going to be sick.

Although I do believe that it will be at a much higher price point than a GTI. Probably mid-30s. You can get a GTI for far less than that. This is more of a competitor for the A3 and maybe the volvo C30 (which is REALLY ugly).

I like the 5-door body MUCH more than the 3-door... unlike the GTI.

It will be an expensive car - I think low $30K is the limit for hatchbacks in the US unless they are REALLY fast.

I've been waiting for this...the 1-series is so much better looking then the GTI IMO and obviously a better driver's car. I agree with Chris, I think the 3-door 1er looks good while the 5-door GTI is better than the 3-door version.

I don't really like the front, anyone have any pics of the front with M-Sport package?

The GTI looks way better, whatever happended to the CS1 Concept i think its from 2002. That litrle things was hot, u really thought BMW was going to put that into prodcution. Anyhow, the plus ofr the 1 is the its rear wheel drive.....

That is starting to look better, put some bigger wheels on it, lower it a bit and I could grow to like it. Is it coming out in 2 door?

Yes there is a 2 door version.
They've been racing these things for some time now on the dutch circuits.
I love them. Last month in Dusseldorf I saw some pretty sick 1 series.
Car has potential...
