Dinan Limited Slip

Anyone drive a car with the Dinan Ltd Slip and SMG 7 speed (don't know if it's version 2 or 3.. think 3) in the M6 Cab?????? I have heard it is a great mod compared to the factory gearing.......

The guys on M5Board are raving about it. Acceleration is notably quicker at lower speeds (i.e. < 100), although many people are reporting a whining noise coming from the diff.

Given the cost/benefit of the other options for improved performance, it looks like the best bang for the buck.

The whining can be fixed free of charge:

Also, i would stay away from dinan diffs. Actually, to be honest, i would stay away from nearly everything dinan.

I would recommend contacting the guys at www.diffsonline.com, They are very reputable, likely around the same price marker as dinan, and also custom make almost every diff they sell.

They can work with you to give you the best acceleration/top speed/traction possible!

Good luck!

Dinan matches the oem warrantee providing coverage for it's components. BMW does not warrantee Dinan items. FYI, you're only covered if the parts are installed by an authorized Dinan shop. Dinan makes quality products and backs them up.

I am planning on buying a diff from these guys, less expensive, BMW OEM diff and like you said they will build it anyway you want! I spoke to them a couple months ago and I plan on a 4.10 set at some point in the future!! SMG can't do that though as it messes up the computer
