How often does he need use of the rear seat? If it's not very often, I'd say go for the M3, otherwise I think the M5 would be a better fit.

I would say the M5 also but the damn carbon buildup is scary. I would suggest the Audi for everyday family use. M3 would be my second choice for a family car.

go for No2.

This was my previous car (not an S2!)
and I think that perfectly fits your case!

PS I miss the incredible torque starting from 2.000 rpm...

Hey guys,

My brother has driven the all the candidates over the weekend except that the BMW's were not Dinan S2 cars. He has not located S2s locally yet to test drive.

He has decided against the Audi S4 because he thought it was kind of boring to drive and the STi just sounded weird to him. He drove a new Evo MR and thought it felt like a go kart and was the most fun to drive. He said the M3 was almost as fun to drive as the Evo. The M5 was best overall, but heavy around the turns.

Hopefully he can locate an S2 to drive.

Thanks for all the input guys.

George

What about a G35 Coupe, seems like it fits all the criterias, and they look bad a$$ once modded right!

He has thought about these cars as well. They are a lot cheaper and look nice as well. There are a few used supercharged G35s he is also considering, but is unsure of its ability for track days. Is the backseat at least as big as the M3?

Hey George,

A buddy of mine had a G35 coupe and was able to fit two adults in the back with a little room to spare, so for two kids, I would think no problem. If he is looking for Dinan, I also came across an BMW 850 Dinan Twin Turbo listed in the Orange County(CA) Craigslist. Not exactly what he's looking for, but the car looked sweet nonetheless and a great price IMHO.
