Thinking about trading in the M6 for a 360
#16
As has been said, if it's not your daily then definately go for the 360. Much more exciting than an M6. The M6 is incredibly fast, luxurious and refined. Not really in the same market as a 360 which is more of a "Look at me" kind of car. Plus mid-engine layouts have to be thrown into the mix atleast every few years right?

I haven't driven the M6 but I have been in the e60 m5 for a while. I would agree that it is probably the ultimate daily driver in either form. At the same time, I would never give up a 360 for one. I wouldn't want to need to drive the 360 every day because it is pretty impractical if you need to carry anything or park anywhere that you don't know but it is a wonderful car to drive. In a lot of situations you certainly could drive it every day and enjoy each mile. I wouldn't worry about missing the extra hp or torque from the M, it is a different animal. I am considering trading up to a 430 so my 360 is for sale if you are interested. Perfect car but it won't be replaced by anything other than a Ferrari. Good luck with your search.
Thanks,

You guys talked me into it. Just sold the M6 this morning it left on a truck, kind of sad as I have not purchased another car yet, just thought since I got a nice offer on it from a dealer and hassle free transaction I would take it. I am considering a few cars. I am looking at 00 Ferrari 360 Modena with 19k miles on it and I am also looking at a 1999 Ferrari 355 Spyder with 20k miles on it. Both are yellow as that is the color I want for a Ferrari. I am thinking about buying the 355 and driving it then upgrading to the 360 as I want something to look forward to. I am also thinking about buying the 355 and waiting for the a lower mileaged 360 to pop up. Let me know your thoughts.

Honestly, it all boils down to what YOU want from the car. To me the 360 is just a beautiful design. I could stare at it for days. The 355 is a great looking car too but the driving in it is incredible. If you care what the car looks like more than the driving experience I would say 355. And that should keep you more than happy. Keep shopping around for the perfect 360 and you really can't loose.

i certainly don't have the experience yet to comment on this but, to my knowledge, 19,000 miles is a lot for an F-car, at least insofar as maintenance, forthcoming repairs, etc, no? It sounds like this F purchase may be a bit of a stretch in which case you don't want to get bogged down by ridiciulous costs. just something to think about.
but definitely other people please correct me if i'm wrong here!
if reliability is an issue, then for that price point(ish) why not a 996TT or 997S or 997TT?
that said, i'd take a Ferrari the moment i could too
but definitely other people please correct me if i'm wrong here!

I sold my M6 to a dealer in Springfield. It went for low 80's. I believe they already have resold it. I am still in the market for a 360. I found one that was at Premier Motorcars in South Dakota and should of just bought it but I wanted less miles as it had 22k miles on it. I was looking for around 15k or less but I will continue my search. I also have noticed some prices going down on 360's. I have seen some as cheap as 110k with less then 15k miles obviously not yellow or red though. I think I am going to enjoy the Viper until I find the right 360.

And as such, just forget about the further depreciation that comes with accruing mileage.
