I kinda feel like a lot of e46 owners will rag on the e92 just like 575 owners do on the 599 and pretty much every other car for that matter. At the end of the day though I bet the e92 will be much better than the e46, maybe a little more soft but much faster, i would compare it to the 996/997 arguement.

I completely agree. As an e36 owner I have witnessed the neverending bashing of the e46 as a 'soft' car already. These generational wars do have a few valid points, however, I think they are mostly just ridiculous!

All of the M cars have been and probably will be incredible. The personality of the vehicle changes a bit each time, but I believe the soul of the vehicle remains the same...

Im still not sold on the low torque of the M3, if they are going after Porsche they need to step up the torque and precision steering

I am reading that they dont like the steering feel or brakes and they also said It is not raw enough, Too refined.

I will wait and drive one I guess.

I ve had 2 E46s and still don't believe that they are a better driver's car than the E36 EVO. I grew up with an E30 poster over my bed. My first expensive car was an E36. I saved up really hard to buy my first E46 and now that I am relatively well set and could easily buy the E92 I am not sure I would do it...

I saw the apparent X6 test car and a silver M3 test car while driving through Death Valley to Vegas last Thursday. The hood bulge seemed much bigger than in the pictures and the fenders weren't flared much at all, and overall I wasn't too impressed and have to say that I like the E46 more looks wise based on what I saw.

Well now that I don't need it to be the ultimate sporting car it sounds pretty damn livable for a DD and I may still get one for wife. I have to say under those circumstances that the C63 may actually be a better choice though.

The comparos of the M3/RS4/C63 should be awesome this time around.

BMW needs to step up its game on these M's... its been pretty annoying since that one guy from GM took over their design. Can't wait till its out to try it out.. Hope its better than it looks.. Hope it drives better than the E46..
