well I know i was right. this car is more geared towards those looking for a badge more than what it stands for and it geared more towards a car for anyone rather than those who really crave a car that can tear it up on the road and the track like the e46.

1) The link doesn't work
2) Your passing judgement based just on something you've read instead of something you've experienced first hand.

Another gentleman who was at the same M3 press event walked away with an entirely different set of impressions. They are posted on a few of the M3 forums. Until more press comes out on the car and they are available to drive, I wouldn't be passing too much judgement on the car.

This about sums up the e46 as compared to the e30 / e36...
Honestly, each generation does become a little less razor edge, but the e92 will be an incredible car, however, I don't think anyone can pass much judgement until many more reviews are filed.

I think the car will be an amazing drivers car once again, COMPARED to others in its class, and other cars in general. BUT i also feel it makes me love my E46 M3 even that much more. I dont know what it is about it, even on stock suspension , bone stock car it is just TONS OF FUN, endless fun.. Hopefully the E92 will live up to the M badge without becoming soft, but hey now people and mag's are raving about the 997 GT3 with a sunroof, PASM, TC compared to the old stripped car. Its the same thing over and over again, so we'll just have to drive them , and then make a conclusion!

I think the point they are making is not that the car has no torque down low, but rather the engine makes it "best" power in the mid/high range, as it should, just like all previous ///M motors have. The mid/high end makes the low end look tame. On the flip side, many S/C amg motors feel like they lack high end power, but in reality, the strong low end simply makes it "feel" that way.
I think we all need to reserve judgment until the car is on the road and people are driving them.
