Well it is coming from a '10 7-Serie mule .... it looks like a BMW it getting ready for HP war with new RS6 "580hp" really 600 V10TT. Also there is a rumor that AMG is working on a better "63"

Rumors say that the 6.2 liter V8 in the AMG's will be twin turbocharged. Although there is no SOLID evidence, there are magazine articles that have stated this as well as inside men and there is even a spy photo of a new Mercedes model with a V8 engine and a front mount intercooler. AMG says they won't supercharge their engines so it must be a twin turbo setup.

One can only assume that BMW will stepup and produce a high horsepower f/i M car.

Forced induction is the future. Period. As much as I like NA cars, they only belong in sports cars. Every other application benefits from the torque and better fuel consumption of the turbocharged engine.

I think its the new M developed engine for the upcoming IS version of the X5. I am pretty sure BMW wont use the V10 found in the M5/6 for the X5 as it wont even help with acceleration.

I love HP wars! FI is the way to go.

 

i hope BMW steps up the plate and delivers with big turbo power just like the early 80s , when they had that . 1.4 liter turbo pumping out an excess of 1300 hp
