WTB: M3 Coupe
WTB: M3 Coupe
Hey guys,
It seems like M3 prices are dropping a bit now due to the E92 around the corner. Maybe they aren't, but I guess I haven't looked recently. It seems like I can pick up a clean 04-05 Coupe with average miles for $35-$40K... $10K less than the E92 I have on order. F that.
So, I think even though it's a bit dated... I am starting the hunt for my dream car. Been on M3forum since Dec 02. I was like, 14 or 15 y/o when I joined.
Requirements are Nav and every other option. It also needs Cinnamon or Imola leather - no Black or Gray. Don't care about the transmission though.
In order, I would like White, Imola, Blue (any shade), then Gray. No black or Phoenix.
2004+, <35K miles.
If you happen to run across anything, I'd love a PM. I'm searching eBay and Autotrader now.
Also, do cars through 03 have the extended 100K warranty, then 04+ has 50K? Thanks!

G37 was the plan last spring. Then it got closer and sucked.
Ordered E92 in July.
Coupe + leather + CA + Sport + NAV + HS = $47,500. That's without Auto or Premium.
So, I rounded a bit, but add the extra tax on $10K and you're closer.

So it's a regular 3 coupe? Not a M3?

Thanks man, saw that one. Just black leather.
Imola or Cinn leather & NAV are main requirements.
PorscheC4 - I might not go as wild as you, but I'll do the basics... AFE, Borla Mids, AA Exhaust, AA/DA Software, PSS9, Wheels, etc...
4wheels - Correct, the E92 I had on order was a 335i, not an M3.

Swap what out? The NAV? I could, maybe a last resort.
Thanks PorscheC4. Hadn't found that one yet. Red/Red is a bit much. I'm in no hurry, so I don't feel like settling (yet). Thanks for the link. I found a hot red/red Comp in LA that had SMG/NAV, etc, 15K, for $45K... Not bad. Also an IB/Cinn with NAV/SMG and 12K for $48K.
I'm hoping to find an 04 with 20K in December for $36-39K. We'll see. I can't see myself paying in the 40s when I can get a new 335i custom ordered for that - though I'm not saying it's a better car.

I'm in the same boat as you buddy!
Good luck to you as well. I am tinkering around with the idea of looking at E92 M3's now with the hopes that they aren't crazily priced in the time to come. I have almost given up at looking for an M3 with a not bland interior! lol

Your 335i comment left me curious. :-D I think I may definitely end up picking that car. The more info I read about the 335i the more I am beginning to like it. Thursday I am going to be taking a test one for a test drive! Have you driven one yet? If so, any thoughts/opinions?
I have driven a sedan with the Eurobahn Turbo Tuner (+55hp, +60tq).
I love the car. Instant torque. So refined and smooth.
But, that's also why I hate it. The M3 loves to be revved. It's raw and passionate. It's aggressive and rewarding.
For daily driving, yada yada, the 335i is the better car. Comfort Access key, newest NAV, newest styling, longer warranty, tuner-friendly, etc... Awesome.
But, designed for the masses.
I live in Vancouver, BC. Perhaps one of the most affluent cities in the world in regards to cars you see on the street. I see about 10 335is per day, and maybe 2 E46Ms.
The M3 is outdated, I wont lie. But starting the S54 up still sends tingles down my spine. Winding it to 8K still gives me a raging boner.
I went to Bimmerfast in May for the first time. Drove down from SF to SB in an 06 AW/IR M3 coupe. I've been in them a LOT, but this was my most recent road trip. Back to back with 335is on the trip... It was close, I wont lie. Especially with direct injection and the gas mileage in the 335i.
But f*ck it. I'm an M3 fan boy that couldn't afford one when they were new.
You can't go wrong.
