I'm pretty sure that's the plan. I don't believe there is any tolerance differences (or things in the way) when comparing the Boxster/Cayman engine and exhaust layouts. We've owned both but i'm not 100% sure if there are any major differences. I think its a must though since some prefer a coupe and some prefer the wind in their face! Can't leave the Boxster folks out of the fun!

Looks like end of the month! Just got word earlier today. As you can imagine I look like this now!

Assuming all is well, I'll hopefully have more updates at the end of this month or beginning of next. Dyno figures, how it feels, etc, etc...

It's been a loooong path to get to this point. It was expected to be a few months total, but there was a change in the design of where the turbos sit at one point, then the intercooler/intake setup, and then the behind the scenes "stuff" like the companies sourced for the molds. So yes, definitely frustrating since I'm so friggin' anxious to see how this car will perform. I can't read an article comparing cars like the Nissan GT-R, 997 Turbo, Z06's, etc without wondering how a 3,000lb Cayman S will compete with, say, 450-475hp on 91 craptane.

I feel for you since you’ve been without your car been since November. I waited 10 months from first seeing the TPC turbo test car video to having their kit offered for sale, but I had my car. I sent my CS to them and then still waited 2 more months to get the car back...but it was worth the wait for over 400 hp to the wheels.

I need to check out here more often. You probably have a write-up on your car somewhere? I'd love to read it! Must be insane...

There are 4 of us on Cayman Club with the TPC turbos. RWHP runs from my "low" 408 to 423 with headers, but my peak torque comes arrives sooner. Look at the Dyno sub forum in Modifications.

I was the first delivered customer car and the long install was because of some final fitment and exhaust tip changes and their work load. The dyno is from TPC.

What are some details regarding the system?

How are they controlling the ECU and what are they doing to deliver additional fuel?

Does it come with the 3rd radiator for the intercooler?

I plan to ship my Cayman S to TPC as I get closer to my warranty expiration. Do you have any intersting "kill" stories or anecdotes? I can imagine that anyone who has challeged you to a stoplight drag in a car normally faster than a CS has been tremendously surprised by your modification! (I know that we aren't supposed to condone stoplight drags, but it would be hard for me to resist a challenge if my CS had the TPC Turbo!).

How is the torque below, say, 3,000rpm? I know it's hard sometimes to tell based on dyno numbers. I'll be curious to see how 2 small ball-bearing turbos perform compared to one larger turbo (is it ball-bearing?). We're hoping for very good low end torque (ala BMW's twin turbo with 2 small turbos) but still with good high rpm horse power.

Did they change the Intake Manifold or is that still stock? What about the Intercooler and additional Radiators?

Can you keep the tires on the ground in 1st gear!

We ended up putting on 997tt wheels/tires with 295 PS2s in the rear "just in case".

The TPC kit has a single friction type modified Garrett with a liquid-to-air intercooler attached to a GT3 front radiator. The ECU is left alone and a piggy-back unit controls two fuel injectors (that help with the charge cooling too) just before the plenum. The plenum intake is changed from the angled one to a 90 deg to accomodate the plumbing. There is a wastegate, a new cone filter, and a new catback.

Power delivery is surprisingly very linear because of the variocam and the exhaust sounds great. The car feels no different until 2700 rpm and then the turbo starts spooling up and the car starts pulling hard all the way to redline. Early on I was bouncing off the rev limiter because the revs were building so fast.

A Porsche shop owner said the car could be quicker than a 997 turbo...power is equivalent but the CS weighs 400 lbs less. With the original taller first gear than a 997S, I think the Cayman would have to play catch-up. I'll let you know when I come across a turbo.

New rears will be a good idea, since my Porsche dealer shop manager drove the car and grinned when he broke loose in second. The TPC owner has broken loose in third. His stock clutch started slipping after a bunch of quarter mile runs, but he can deal with the new power now with just the change to the 997S clutch. His CS was a half second and 5 mph quicker in the quarter than a 997 GT3.

My boost is limited to 5-1/2 lbs so it is easy on the engine...so I'm not worrying the warranty especially after the months of TPC testing. When you reach your goals with the TT setup, you'll gonna love it.

I can't wait to drive this monster! I agree, it must be faster than a 997 turbo. Probably a little tougher to get out of the hole cleanly, but I imagine on a race course it's going to be unbelievable! I plan to test it out in the 1/4 mile as well. My best stock here in AZ (hot) was a 13.5 @ 105.xx. We're usually a few tenths slower than most other areas, especially East Coast tracks. But at least I'll be able to see the difference compared to my other runs here. The true test will be tracking it on a REAL coarse!

I hope to have a LOT more info at the end of this month. I'll post again when I get a closer idea of the time frame this month.

The TPC turbo had a 12.47 @ 115.xx. I thought that was a bad time due to track prep because the GT3 in the other lane came in at 12.99 when Dragtimes has a 12.1 for a stock GT3.

My previous stock E55 could do a 12.2 with horse power about the same as the TPC turbo but with 515 lb.ft. of torque. The CS weighs over 1,100 lbs less so you might be able to break into the 11s with the right conditions.
