17" Tire question

I currently have a set of Stock 17" Boxster wheels stored away and I was thinking about mounting snow tires on them....Currently I have PS2 sized::

205/55/17 F
235/50/17R

I'm not sure of the rear wheel size, but can I mount 255s on the rear wheel? or what is the min width do I need for a 255 tire? I think some of the boxster came with 255 rears....

If they are 8" or more in width you will be fine... they will be a little pinched but you will be fine...

Look on the back of the rim and see if you can find the width, that way we'll know for sure.
