since you're asking a Porsche forum, clear answer will be boxster s.
Go test drive both and see which one you like.

The biggest difference I notice between the two is that the boxster s feels a lot more refined than the Z06.
But the Z06 offers a lot more bang for your buck performance.
If you are looking for only performance and care about nothing else go with a Z06.
If you want a refined and nice all around car go with a boxster s.

I have driven the Z06 in cali for a weekend and damn is it fun! The acceleration is phenomenal and with the exhaust my friend has...it'd LOUD! It is however an animal, and definitely not as refine. I find the run flat tires horrible and the brakes are crap, or maybe it's just me. At the end of the day, I still look forward to my 987.

Night and day difference between the two. Kinda like asking "should I buy a scapel or an axe". Both can be useful tools depending on what your needs/wants are.

Almost exactly how I compared the 986S to the M3 and the Vette... scalpel, bowie knife, and a axe... to each his own eh?

One thing you should ask yourself is do you want a hardtop or convertable.. the boxster looks great with the top down.. but not so good with it up.. unless you have black imo.. that's also a big factor

Or you could buy an earlier model boxster or one with a bit more miles and buy a Zeintop. Then you have the best of both worlds! That's what I did and am loving the top down driving in the summer and sleek hardtop during the winter

Next time your out driving count the number of vettes you see and the number of Porsches you see. That may help you make up your mind.....you could be like everyone else and drive a vette or you could be special and drive a Porsche.
