Installing a Laser Jammer

I'm thinking of installing a laser jammer in my '06 Boxster - either the Blinder M25 or the Escort ZR4 (whenever it becomes available.) The laser heads will have to be mounted in the radiator grills on either side of the front bumper and I'm not really sure how to run the wiring from in front of the radiators to the inside of the front trunk. I just don’t see any convenient way to route the cables. Does anyone have any experience with this kind of install or know where there are some good directions on feeding those wires? I’m hoping there’s some easy access point and that I don’t have to take the bumper off or something.

Thanks for any help,

Rob

I have installed M25 and mounted inside the grills.
I tried to install without removing the bumper, but couldn't find better way unless you use velcro. If you remove the bumper you will know how to route the cables and its much easier to route the cables to front trunk or inside the cabin. I routed cables inside the cabin and have control switch and LED near me.

Laser thoughts

I bought my 911 used with a K40, laser and all. It was turned off when i bought the car. I flipped the switch and discovered why it was turned off- worthless! It was a slick install, but couldn't catch Ka until way too late.

I had an Escort Blinder installed with my my Escort 8500 X50 and no complaints. I put all three heads up front- one under each headlight and the rear one over the front license plate. There isn't much shiny on my car to take a rear laser hit, and I put Veil on the license plate to block that.

I can't imagine doing the install yourself, though. I took mine to a stereo shop that does high end gear, and they spend the better part of two days running the wires- same result as when a different custom shop put one in my old Boxster.

Hmmm...a co-worker had it installed on his 996. He liked it so much, he bought another system and had it installed in his new 997.

In Atlanta get Cartunes to do the install for you- they did mine, very clean. They're on Roswell Road right off 285. Ask for Jim.
