Instrument Cluster Shade modifcication

I completed the mod this weekend. I removed the cluster hood but was too impatient to wait for the RS60 trim piece. Add to that, it was most likely to come in black so I would have to paint anyways. Thought to myself...wonder what it would look like with the grill in place. I always liked that part of the intrument cluster.

Out comes the dremel, sand paper, and black paint...voila!

The cost was time, sandpaper, spray paint, a walmart door trim (the stuff that protects door edges).

You have to take apart the gauges, cut, sand, paint and install.

may i reccomend adding the trim on the edge of the plastic tab pieces that are on either side of the mesh? i think it would "finish" the look

If that is your thing and its OK with you than that great! Unlike me I love my gizmo's.

But if I can express my opinion, even the RS60 is a joke IMO! Come on it's a Boxster S with a sports exhaust, red interior, 19'' wheels etc!

IMO they could have put more effort, like lightened it as much as possible and made it more true to the real thing. More like they did with the 911 GT2/3s.

I just love Porsche, I am passionate but the do not like when they 'abuse' the general public! Like they did with the Boxster 'Coupe', oh I mean the Cayman!
