Boxster/Cayman

Well maybe thats why I bought a cayman I could care less about having a Convertable .Could not afford a Ferrari and Did not want to be Gouged by the Audi R-8 35 to 50K over sticker Vultures.I guess I see now there is a certain fun factor that I now see by owning a boxster.Just Prefer the lines on the Cayman more

I tested the Cayman and Boxster. The Cayman is more quiet and have lots more trunk space for shopping and DE.

Got a Boxster and felt the need for the hardtop. Bought a hardtop, drove with it on for a few winter months.

Since then the hardtop has not seen the light of day. Don't know why I thought I needed it.

I think if you start with a Boxster and hardly ever put the top down, you might want a Cayman.

If you start with a Cayman, you might never know how much fun a Boxster is.

Either way, there's a ton of worse ways to travel.

Why choose, you can have both if you buy a Boxster...

I've owned two Boxsters (2000 S and now a 2006 S) and a Cayman S. Boxster is for everyday open air driving fun. Cayman is for track fun (since convertibles are slowly getting banned from track driving). If you are into golfing, I believe you can fit more clubs in a Cayman Cayman is quieter inside.

The ladies just seem to love the open top no matter where I go. Much easier to catch p*nties thrown my way with the top down! Seriously.

Gotta go with the boxster. Especially in areas where you want to fully enjoy the nice sunny days. I even drive mine when its in the 40s as long as its not raining. Fun car, great to be driving with the top down. Not too bad with it up either.

i had a 2001 boxster S. my thought prior to buying it was that i'd love having a convertible. after driving it for several months i figured out i simply don't care for top down driving. personal preference. that, coupled with having to replace the top ($$) and 2 RMS, i was ready to move on.

my intention though was to buy a pre-owned 997 to keep the costs down but drove the cayman S first and like the intimate feel of a smaller cabin. the lines of the cayman S speak for themselves.

Instinctevly I would go for a Cayman... but the rip-off artists that Porsche are, the 'vert is cheaper then the coupe... which makes the descision much, much easier. You save money AND get to drive al fresco. And the Cayman has no advantage in useability since it also only has two seats. I drove both on track and the difference is very small, so unless you plan to track your car regularly, again, descision is easy.

BTW, almost 10K USD price difference between a Cayman and a Boxster here.

Kind of funny why that is, but it's great news for the people that like the 'vert option.

Russian dude

That is a really big price difference 10K .That would steer me toward a Boxster as well .Here in the US the Cayman and Boxster are only 2 to 3K difference in price .Thats really Crazy though when you think about it .It probally costs Porsche MORE $$$ to build a Boxster .. Marketing I guess
