feels so nice
feels so nice
It's been three long years since I was last in a Porsche...just picked an '05 low mileage 987S Black/black and it is sweet! Like an old friend that is so familiar...I had an '01 986S for a couple of years and was in a '03 996C4S through '05 before the marriage ended as did the C4S. A lot of changes obviously from the earlier model but one big difference is the exhaust note. This car has PASM which I am getting a feel for, sport seats (nice touch), sport steering wheel, chrono pack,19" carrera alloys all in all nicely fitted.
Anything unusual in the '05s that I need to watch out for?

i am looking at swapping the C4s for the midnight blue 2006 Boxster S at Downtown or a new 2008 Boxter at my dealer in Ottawa.
does yours have the crono?
trying to decide if the absence of back seats will kill me! the attraction is the convertable and the driving clarity that they always speak about when describing the Boxster.

That's the kind of question that will garner more opinions than you can count! Here's my take, I love the mid engine, the sheer driveability and the chasis of the Boxster series, for a reasonable price, is an automotive bargain! I went to Porsche Driving Experience in '04, as well as taking a 911 to the track for two days, we did a timed obstacle course with a Boxster S and it was a blast! I thought at the time why am I trading in My Boxster S on a 911? Don't get me wrong, I loved my 996 C4S, added an Evo Supercharger and had one of the finest sleeper 911's on the road. Maybe I had back seat envy at one time but I certainly don't miss the back seats now. If you take your car to the track you will miss the power of the 911 as you see them pass you on the straights but you don't live on the track. For a daily driver the bang for your buck factor of the Boxster series is very tough to beat.

was the S a US car or was it from one of the GTA dealers?
that is a nice speck - the sport seats are nice - pasm and chrono the previous owner had good taste - sounds like it was an ordered vehicle rather then dealer spec.
i have read a lot of threads over the weekend and haven't seen anything unusal about the 2005's. i got a spec on the changes to the 2006 and pretty minor - TPMS being one of the larger changes as an option. does yours have any extended warranty?

The car had only 12k on the odometer so it was a garage queen...purchased at Pfaff and with extended warranty. One year remaining on the factory warranty plus two for the extended warranty after the factory expires.
