Exclamation Earthquake in California!

Hey!

I'm on vacation from Florida escaping the Hurricanes and here in Walnut Creek CA while at the Walnut Creek Yaught Club at 9pm Pacific time I felt my very first Earthquake. Woo Hoo! :bugeye: It was 4.2 on the richter scale and centered in Alamo CA.

Why dont you Californians have names for your earthquakes like we have for our Hurricanes? :rofl3:

I thought I'd share my experience.

Yeah, it lasted 8 seconds and was a hugh jolt with a large boom. It wasnt a rolling feeling. Everyone a the bar applaused after it and carried on with their routine.

Cool

F*** that! I would rather have a hurricane than an earthquake. We were just talking about this. I saw pictures of cars pancaked in between fallen bridges. A little wind and rain has no comparison. I'll stay here in sunny South Florida

How are your mosquitos in Florida? Humidity? Earthquake is over before you know what's happening. ;o) Hurricane you get to dread the impending doom for days. hehe
Signing off from sunny Cal. Today: 76 degrees & nice comfy low humidity (no bugs, too). ;o)

Agreed on the humidity. Ever heard about conditioned air (AC)? And mosquitoes are bad only a part of the year, And they don't really bother you much if you are not near water. I'm sure there are both terrible and great things about both places so let's not get too cocky about where we live! You stay there, And I'll stay here.

The Issue here was earthquakes......
