What do you think of Cayman type 1 spoiler?
SubscribeI am pondering is I should buy the spoiler... but just cant decide if its nice. I personally like it but have gotten some unfavorable comments from my friends. Please give me your comment. Thanks
I like the new Zeintec spoiler for the 987s (see related post) and it goes up & down like the stock one. However, the price is steep...not sure what the one you are talking about costs though.
Tech Art type I rear spoiler for the Cayman; $689 at GMP (One of our most excellent sponsers)

Not sure if it will allow the use of the move-able stock spoiler or if it would have to be disabled.

I have the Techart Type 1 on my Cayman; I like it alot more than I thought I would. The GT style is defintely more noticeable, but the Type1 gives the rear a nice addition without looking too over-the-top.
You will need your dealer to deactivate the stock rear spoiler before installation.
I think I saw one for sale recently on CaymanClub.

I just bought one and I tried mounting it to work with the spoiler and you can do it with some slight modifications. I have photos right here:

In case you're interested, here's a good set of spoilers for caymans and I'm i/p with making a custom one that's close to the speedart one that can go up and down

Hi, for those who installed the Type 1 spoiler on the car, does the spoiler really need to be hard installed (screw through the trunk) ? Or it is possible to just stick it on with industrial strength glue?
No spoiler!
maybe if it worked in place of the factory spoiler.
