Best Year to get a boxster?

If I may ask,

For benefit of money-savings, is the 1998-2001 boxster almost like 2007-current versions, that it really doesn't make much difference if you get the older version...

I haven't owned a Boxster either (but still consider one sometimes), but I believe according to Wikipedia that the 05 upgrade of the S took the motor to 3.2 liters, and in 07 it was increased to 3.4 liters. One of these days I will try an 07S to see how it compares to my 997 T4S.
