Best of 2008 (boxster related)

My best of 2008:

1) buying a boxster
2) attending the Porsche Sports driving School
3) Switching to a B&M Short shifter
4) Finding sites like this one to learn about these great cars.

Happy New Year to All!

New years resolution for me is to attend the Brainerd track day and take a nice long road trip in my Cayman S.

Ginza Man is infamous around these parts
I tried optional short shifter from dealer but didn't like it as much as regular. Gear seems hard to move and feels unnatural. Am I only person feeling this way. Is B&M any different or better?

I have the B&M shifter and it is great. Perfect travel with just the right pressure required.

The regular throw was just too lame.

go for it

Factory short shift is great....... after it is warm. Cold is stiffer than stock.

Once it is warmed up, it is wonderful. The amount of throw better matches the clutch travel. To me it makes the gear changing process more harmonious. Clutch and steering were always perfect, however travel on the shifter seemed too long and out of balance with the other controls.

Does that make sense???
