How long does the 3.2 motor take to get to normal operating temp? I test drove an '06 today and I figured t would be warm within a minute or so, not being a turbo car.

while not driving or driving? turning the engine on and let it sit until it reaches the operating temp or driving around? obviously driving around will reach the operating temp faster but i definitely know that it takes more than 1 min.

ive been taken it to 3k rpm these days from time to time, but it doesnt make the driving much faster then switching gears at 2k rpm.

porsche dealers will actually tell you to drive car hard...when you keep these engines at low rpms its bad for them..the build up gunk or sludge...he actually said we dont like buying cars back from older people generaly cause they drive them slow(at low rpm)...engines tend to get problems...and what do you mean about not faster...you can drive slow at 6k rpms...just how fast you put the pedal down..u can drive around in 1st at 30mph ..SLOWLY

Common, open it up. Porsche's are meant to be "driven"

Once in awhile I'll keep it at 4-4.5k, but then I realize that I wanna hear that beautiful Porsche tone and mash that pedal!
