Can you share with us an estimate of the man-hours it took for your installation?

 

I've been asked this a few times, and it's kind of tough to say because a lot of the time I spent was taking pictures and exploring the car and parts for installation options. Also, I did this install over the winter when I wasn't using the car, in bits and pieces. I took the switch cluster out and took it inside to work on it. Same with the display, GPS sensor, speaker, etc.... A few hours here, a few there.

I probably dedicated about 50 hours to this project. But again, a lot of time was spent documenting the process. I actually did this project for another web site and there I documented the install in tremendous detail with close to 100 photographs.

If I had to duplicate this install, and if I had a full shop available to me to do so, I suspect I could complete the install in two days (16-20 hours). This is not a basic installation. A basic installation would take ~4 hours.

Wow, the install looks amazing! We installed one on a C63, the GPS is so worth it!!! How many "marked locations" do you have?

 

I'm not sure. I haven't added any locations, so I am just running the latest database.
