Help on selling my 05 Boxster S!! How much should I ask for?

Hi everybody,

I need some help deciding asking price for my car. I already have it listed on some sites, but still wanted to get your opinions. I cannot post yet on classfields due to number of posts required, but will when I get to the number.

Anyway, my car is a 2005 Porsche Boxster S with 35,000 miles, Artic Silver with Black Full Leather Inerior.

Factory Options:

Full Leather Interior
Sport Chrono Package
Bose Sound System
Sport Seats
Rear Center Console painted Exterior Color
Short Shifter
Heated Seats
Clear Side Markers

Upgrades Purschased by me:

Techart Formula 20" wheels (silver)
H&R Coilover suspension
Techart 17mm spacers
Supersprint Exhaust (Italian, sounds so nice!)
Red Tail lights

The original MSRP of the car was $69,800. I am the second owner and bought the car when it had less than 2,000 miles.

Any help would be greately appreciated!

How much should I ask? If you want, you can PM me!

Just looked at the sticky post on the top of the Autos for Sale section and you need 100 posts to put an ad in - looks like you have more than that so you might email a moderator if you aren't able to start a sale thread there.

Pricing will depend on the wholesale price of your car to a dealer in your local market and if you can find a private buyer who will appreciate and pay for the suspension and wheels you've put on. List the car for a while and if necessary sell the parts seperately before you trade it in as dealers will value them at zero.

Good luck with your sale - what are you planning to move into next?

If it helps give you a reference, it appears that I have just sold my '08 Boxster S with just over 3k miles, extras, etc. for $43k. Granted my car is/was newer, less miles, etc.

Not sure how the boxster market is but for reference purposes my 04 GT3 had an MSRP of just over 110k, I've put about 10k in mods into it, and its got 11k miles. The car is listed for sale at 58k, and that's just below market. I'd say low to mid 30's would be a good place to start.

One thing to keep in mind, some people have been talking on the site about getting used Cayman S' for around 40k. So you sell too high in the 30's and it may be difficult. The 33k price seems like a good start point. You can always lower it from there.

Can't be - I had a hard time getting $43k for a perfect "2008" Boxster S with 3k miles, $2k in extras, ~5 years of Porshce warranty, etc.

But best of luck getting that!

I am interested in your car, although I am likely to pick up a local Boxster I looked at today. Check your messages for my contact information.

I agree with Bob... there is quite a gap between asking and what's selling. For comparison, Carmax in Miami has a '05 Boxster S w/ 35K miles and they're now asking $24,9k (started with $28k earlier this year.). You have a good car, so it should get more inquiries from enthusiasts. Too bad I won't be in the market for a Boxster S until end of year, but good luck with sale!

Sorry if you've posted them up already in another thread and i missed it,....but do you have some pictures? It sounds like your Boxster has been nicely done! All of the 05's that I've been peeking at are 100% stock. It would be nice to pick one up with a few mods already on it! I'll be in the market eventually for an '05. =)

Best wishes with the sale!
